My Thoughts on The Dark Guest

So many twists and turns!

The Dark Guest by Sarah Hamaker was a very interesting historical mystery. I love the writing trend right now of interweaving mysteries with actual history, it fascinates me. And Sarah Hamaker was a wonderful storyteller!

From the characters, I think one of my favorite things about them was that they were a slow burn type of romance–not a we’re in love from page one type of storyline. They were developed over the course of the story and Sarah Hamaker helped us truly fall in love with them as they were falling in love with each other. 

The suspense was on point. A look into the cold war spy era has always fascinated me, what they went through, the dangers involved… and Sarah Hamaker did a fabulous job bringing out those feelings and actions. There was a good amount of danger, and twists to keep me hooked from the first chapter right until the very end. 

I definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting a good historical mystery!
