My Review of The Reluctant Cattleman
Karen Baney is a new to me author, but I was intrigued by the premise of the Colter Sons series and that of The Reluctant Cattleman.
This book starts in an unusual way than most. It made me a little curious and a little bit confused as to where this story would be taking me.
Here are five reasons this book may intrigue you too!
- The story is told in first person by both main characters so there is the opportunity for real depth.
- It is a clean mistaken identity/ close quarters/love at first sight romance with a historical flare.
- It is a family saga which I enjoy because, in the next few books, we continue to interact with the whole family.
- Karen Baney adds great detail, so you know exactly what each character is up to.
- The characters have REAL problems overcome by REAL solutions.
Overall, this was a great start to a series, and I am looking forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.

The only thing that confused me was honestly the title of this book since it’s made clear at the beginning that the main character does NOT like cattle or anything to do with ranching….
