Meet the Author of Rambee Boo’s  Lake Vacation:

I began writing THE RAMBEE BOO SERIES after we added a fur baby to our family, during the Covid-19 pandemic quarantine. The characters in the series are based off my youngest son Rocky (aka Rock), and our rambunctious puppy Rambo (aka Rambee Boo). Whenever there’s trouble, these two are usually at the center of it!

I graduated from West Windsor-Plainsboro High school in 2000 and went on to get my B.A. from Rutgers University, New Brunswick. I currently live in New Jersey with my husband, my three children and of course…my Rambee Boo! I’ve always had a great love for children’s books and started collecting them in college. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to write my own series to add to our collection.

I hope these books will continue to grow and foster children’s love for reading. It is my hope that my readers enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them!

Balancing my time as a mom writer.

Some may agree that being a mom is both the most rewarding job on the planet and at times the most frustrating. Especially when it comes to time management. As a mom, I feel like I’m always battling the time game. There aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything I WANT to do and everything I HAVE to do. I have a husband, 3 children, a dog and a career as a children’s book author. Throw a new business in the mix and it’s not hard to image where all my time goes.

As a parent, I struggle with the constant mom guilt of “Am I spending enough quality time with my kids?”

While wondering, am I giving my business the time and attention, it needs to grow and thrive? The truth is, I don’t really know. I know I’m doing the best that I can in the limited hours each day provides. I find myself waking up early or working late into the night so I don’t feel guilty taking a few hours off during the day to spend time with the kids.

It took some time to adjust to my new schedule but I now enjoy waking up early and writing while the house is still and quiet, while everyone is fast asleep, and I’m left with my thoughts. I’m at peace. For that short period of time early in the morning, my mom guilt slips away. I’m not worried about laundry, meals or schedules. I’m not worried about marketing strategies, algorithms, licensing agreements or funding. It’s me time.

Fueled with a big cup of coffee and of course my little shadow, Rambee Boo next to me, I feel ready to take on a new day…or a new book. Moral of the story – life is a balance and somedays are going to be better than others. Don’t beat yourself up, do what you can and most importantly don’t forget to take time for youself.

My Thoughts on Rambee Boo’s Lake Vacation

This book was adorable ?.

If you have been watching my book reviews for a while now, you know I am pretty particular on kids’ books. I think they need to actually be able to be read by kids and easily understood by them.

Rambee Boo’s Lake Vacation is one such book. The author Reena Korde Pagnoni did a great job invoking imagination and combining it with real life scenarios. I loved the repetitive style she used to reinforce what was going on and I loved how she continually asked questions as it always leads to kids giving answers.

The illustrations were also very well done, and I loved looking at them. Their details were great, and the colors were fun.

Overall, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
