MY THOUGHTS?

I LOVED this book (aside from the fact that it is one of my favorite colors!).

My Cat is Blue by Sarah Sommer was beautifully written, and subtlety conveyed an important message.

I loved how Sarah Sommer took a little girl’s pet and used it as an example of paying attention to those around us. Her cat is sad, and she wants to make sure he is happy again, and after doing everything thing she knows to do she approaches her parents and veterinarian about how to make her cat happy again. Which is what any kid should do given the situation, whether it be a pet or friend who is showing signs of depression.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and how the illustrations brought home the theme and conveyed the emotions of the little girl and her cat. One of the best children’s books I have had the pleasure of reading this year. 5 Stars.

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.
