Book Review: To Win A Prince by Toni Shiloh

I am a big fan of the way Toni Shiloh writes her books, they are bright, romantic, and have a feel of coming home. To Win a Prince though not directly a series, has some interwoven elements to her last Bethany House Published book, In Search Of A Prince.

A Little About To Win A Prince

To Win A Prince

Synopsis:

Can she stop herself from falling before she’s too far gone?

As a fashion aficionado and best friend of the queen of the African island country Ọlọrọ Ilé, Iris Blakely dreams of using her talent to start a sustainable clothing line to help citizens in impoverished areas and honor the country’s resources. But when she discovers that Ekon Diallo–the man who betrayed her best friend–will be her business consultant, the battle between her desires and reality begins.

Ekon Diallo has lost everything: his princely title, his material possessions, his friends, and the respect of his fellow Ọlọrans. To pay for his actions against Ọlọrọ Ilé, he’s forced to assist the charismatic Iris Blakely–but he can’t allow his heart to distract him from regaining his status.

Though they come from vastly different worlds, Iris and Ekon are both determined to reach their goals, and the only way to do that is to work together–if they can just keep their hearts from getting in the way . . .

My Thoughts on To Win A Prince

Iris was a model of patience! I loved her attitude and how she strived to see the best in people. I thought that her goals and emotions came across as a strong personality both in her faith and work life. And one of my favorite aspects of the story was the growth between Iris and Ekon as a couple and as separate people, most books don’t show so much of the individual character growth as they do the growth of the couple as a whole. But Toni Shiloh managed a wonderful balance between the two.

Ekon was an interesting character. Without giving two much away (I hope you’ve already read In Search Of A Prince!) I was prepared not to like Ekon. In the last book he had a very self centered egotistical attitude. Yet, Toni Shiloh made his story one of extreme personal growth and an amazing redemption story.

I LOVED this To Win A Prince and I would love it if there were more books set in this fictional kingdom, it was a fascinating culture!

5 Stars. For the lovely characters, the amazing world that Toni Shiloh created, for the heart touching redemptive story inside!

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback.
